Updates coming soon!! So so busy, but it's coming along hour by hour. Next week I should be able to devote a couple full days. Hope it isn't 100+ degrees and doesn't rain.
So since no one has claimed the kitten, he has been adopted by my family and named Hazard. He is amazing.

Mixing
It was too hot to work today. I mixed some colors though because I spent about an hour just mixing on Friday. I came up with four greens and some gradations of oranges. I think I'll need more gray eventually. I didn't get around to the browns or the light yellow/gold but I think what I have will get me started.

Lift Kitty
There was a kitten hiding under the lift.
We turned the lift around so would be able to access the controls that had been on the side facing the building and I started outlining the design in paint.
The paint order should be in on Friday so this weekend I can start blocking in color.

On to the Design
I thought it would be cooler if I went up in the morning, but I guess 8:30 wasn't early enough.
Made a lot of progress in just two hours, though Mary Fuller Frazier currently looks like a man.

Mural Warrior
Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend! I thought about writing "Happy 4th of July!" on the wall but I wasn't sure how it would be received, so an amorphous blob was all that graced the side of the building for a week. I boarded a train to Baltimore early on Wednesday, spent a few days visiting friends at MICA, then left for a weekend in DC. I came back early on Monday morning and went directly to the Mattress Factory for the first day of class. Needless to say at the end of the day, I was exhausted.

Went up for about an hour around 7:30 when it wasn't unbearably hot. Fixed the grid (or at least George Washington, the coke ovens still don't look right to me).
I was using blue chalk for the grid lines and black for the design, which I should have known would result in black chalk dust all over the place.
I'm just glad I made a little progress today, I didn't want to leave it for over a week. Hopefully I can get up early to put in some hours before heading off to Pittsburgh.
